Life Group Moving to Tuesday Nights

Starting this week, the life group led by Mark Loomis, formerly held on Monday nights, will be switching to Tuesdays. This group meets at 7 pm at the Loomis home. For more information about this group, call (951)515-8819 or email us at info@newlifecommunitychurch.net

Can you help reach our community?

Many of the people who attend New Life came as result of receiving a flyer in the mail. This has been an important way for us to let our community know that we’re here, and that we want to help other’s know Christ. We want to continue this practice by sending a flyer to each home within our immediate area – approximately 20,000 homes. We need your help to do this.
Church finances are tight, so the only way to do this is through a special giving. We’re looking for people who can give, over and above their regular giving, to help us reach out to our community. The total cost breaks down to about $30 to reach 100 people. Can you help with the cost of this outreach? If so, when you make your gift, designate it to “mailer."

This Weekend's Message

During this weekend's message, we studied 1 Corinthians 4:1-5 and talked about three reasons to Choose to Live for an Audience of One:

1. God is the only one we’ll ultimately answer to. vs 4 “It is the Lord who
judges me”
2. God is the only one who fully knows us. vs 5 “bring to light…expose”
3. God is the one who will reward us. vs 5 “receive his praise from God”

If you missed it, you can listen to the message or download the outline on our website

December Giving Report

How did we do in the month of December?
We were $5,449 over our monthly budget.

How much does it “cost” to run the church?
In a 5 Sunday month it takes a minimum of $36,804.  It allows us to pay the bills and fund a minimal amount to our ministries.

How much was the actual giving for the month?

The giving for this month was $42,253.

Is there anything else I need to know?

If you’re someone who regularly gives to God at New Life: Thanks! Your giving makes a difference.

If you’re someone who is not yet giving: Make a decision to get involved. Take the first step toward the  biblical practice of giving. You can find out more about giving here.

And for everyone: Please take time this week to pray for the finances of both our church family,  and the individual families that make up New Life.

Mexico Outreach

Our church supports an orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico called Estado 29. Towards the beginning of each month, a team of volunteers goes on a one-day trip to Ensenada to help share God's love. Our next trip will be on February 1st.

To find out how to get involved in this ministry, check out our outreach webpage here, or email us at info@newlifecommunitychurch.net

Who's your one?

At New Life, we ask members the question, "Who's Your One?" This question flows from the Biblical truth that each person matters to God. Our hope is that each member of New Life would have one person they are praying for and reaching out to with the love of Christ. Take time this week to identify and pray for your "One". For more information, visit our ONE webpage here.

Getting More Out of 1 Corinthians

We're beginning a series though the book of 1 Corinthians on Sunday mornings. The following are some ideas for getting more out of this book of the Bible…
1) Read a chapter of First Corinthians prior to the weekend service. Get a head start by reading a chapter in the book of 1 Peter. That way when you show up on Sunday, you'll be familiar with the passage we'll be discussing.
2) Join a Life Group to discuss the book of 1 Corinthians. Each week our Life Groups meet and look at the passage from the previous Sunday. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more.
3) Take advantage of online Bible study tools. One good website is http://www.biblestudytools.com.
For more ideas about growing in your faith, see our Bible-Centered Christian webpage.

Year End Giving

A special word of thanks to everyone who gave to God at New Life this past year. All financial gifts received on or before December 31st will be recorded as 2013 giving. The statements will be sent out by the end of January 2014. For more information, contact the church office or email us at finance@newlifecommunitychurch.net

Life Group Questions for Personal Growth

Each week, we provide an outline during the weekend service. On one side, we provide the Bible passage to look at during the service. On the other side, there are discussion questions that connect to that same weekly passage. These questions are designed to interact and apply the passage.

These questions are used by our Life Groups that meet throughout the week. But these same questions can be used as a personal study tool. If you are not yet part of a group, you can use these questions during your personal Bible study time. They can provide an opportunity to dig deeper and reinforce the passage from the previous weekend’s service. Also, if you miss a service, both the message and the questions can be downloaded online.
