March Giving Update

Hey Members, here is the giving update for the month of March. As you can see it took both the regular giving and the Growing in faith giving to get within striking distance of our budget. March was a five Sunday month which is a little different. Clearly we are still in tough times economically.

This month’s giving reconfirms several things.

1) Our church, like many churches are continuing to see lower giving.

2) That our priority of using Growing in Faith giving to first take care of our church family, and the property second, was the right one. If we did not have the Growing in Faith giving to meet this month’s budget, we would be in trouble.

3) Whether it’s regular giving or special giving, we need everyone’s help to ride out this challenging time.

4) Keep praying – God has called our church to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples – let’s keep praying for His provision as we move forward.

Accelerate Group

Accelerate is a small group designed to move you forward in your relationship with Christ and your connection to the church family. It begins April 22nd on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm and runs for 8 weeks. To sign up for this group or for more info about small groups at New Life, stop by the Information Tables. Thanks to everyone who is giving to Growing in Faith. As you know, right now it’s taking both our regular giving and GIF giving to keep our church going.

We know that both the church and it’s members are facing financial challenges that most of us have not seen in our lifetimes. But with your help we’re keeping the church afloat and focused on our mission of making disciples.

Some good news - As part of this new round of Growing in Faith, members committed to give $6893 a month. In March, we’ve already received $6300 and we still have a week to go. So thanks to everyone who is giving, each week your generosity is making a difference.

Scott Weisheit- Lay Pastor

“I will place shepherds over them who will tend them” Jeremiah 23:4

Last Sunday, during the weekend service we recognized Scott Weisheit as a lay pastor at New Life. A Lay Pastor is someone officially commissioned by the church to assist in the pastoral care of the members, including performing weddings and funerals, counseling, hospital visits, and prayer for the sick. Please join us in welcoming Scott to this new position.
