Gift to the King

The holidays are a time for tradition.  One of the traditions at New Life is the annual “Gift to the King” Christmas offering.  God has given us so much; this is an opportunity to give back to Him.

Gift to the King is a time to make a special gift “over and above” your regular giving, toward Christ’s work at our church.  Your gift will go directly to strengthen our outreach, our weekend services, our children’s ministry, our youth program and the other important ministries at New Life.

You can make your gift online, or write "Gift to the King" on your gift during the Weekend Service.

Important Property Update

We have an important property update: Our lender is moving forward with foreclosing on our property. Our property will be sold in a foreclosure sale on November 12th. As you know we have been working with the bank on possible options, but none of the scenarios worked, so the bank is taking back the property and putting it up for auction.

It’s disappointing to see this happen. But given the current economic circumstances, we simply can’t afford the property. If you’ve been reading the financial updates you know that it takes all of our Growing in Faith giving and our regular giving just to meet the church’s regular budget (and the last couple months we haven’t even been doing that). To find out more about this - click here.

P.S. Are you a Growing in Faith Supporter? If so, look for the letter that will arrive via mail. This letter addresses specific issues that will be of interest to those financially supporting Growing in Faith.

Year to Date Giving

Here is a graph of our year to date giving. As you can see, the summer months hit us hard. Our weekly budget as a church is $9500. As you can tell, we are falling short of it. We know it's a tough time for many families, so please pray for God's provision for our church and the families of our congregation.

P.S. For those of you who are unfamiliar with "GIF" giving. It stands for "Growing in Faith" and it's special giving our members are contributing over and above their regular offering. As you can tell, that red colored "GIF" giving is getting us that much closer to making each week. Thanks to everyone who gives and a special thanks to our growing in faith givers.

Growing in Faith Update

Here is our Growing in Faith Giving for February, March and April.  Members committed to give $6900 a month.  In February we did well (Considering the commitment didn't start till the middle of the month) In March we exceeded our goal, and in April we came in short.

Thanks to everyone who is giving to Growing in Faith.  Your giving is keeping our church going!  Thanks for playing a part in changed lives.

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who is giving to Growing in Faith. As you know, right now it’s taking both our regular giving and GIF giving to keep our church going.

We know that both the church and it’s members are facing financial challenges that most of us have not seen in our lifetimes. But with your help we’re keeping the church afloat and focused on our mission of making disciples.

Some good news - As part of this new round of Growing in Faith, members committed to give $6893 a month. In March, we’ve already received $6300 and we still have a week to go. So thanks to everyone who is giving, each week your generosity is making a difference.

Commitment Sunday

On Sunday we're inviting members to make a financial commitment to our church. We're calling this project Growing in Faith. If you're planning to participate in this Sunday's offering, here are a couple things to know.

1) Please use a Growing in Faith Envelope - Use a Growing in Faith envelope for your one time gift and your commitment card. This will ensure that all giving is correctly recorded.

2) Growing in Faith envelopes and commitment cards are available in the lobby. If you need a card, you can grab one before the service in the lobby.

3) Write "I understand" on the commitment card -At last Sunday's service, we laid out a new priority for how Growing in Faith giving will be used. The giving will go first for our church's needs here and now, and second for moving ahead with our future church home. Let us know that you understand these priorities by writing "I understand" on your commitment card or check. If you already sealed the envelope, write “I understand” on the outside of the envelope.

4) We'll be having one offering at the end of the service - You can place both your Growing in Faith gift and your regular giving in the offering bags when they are passed at the end of the service.

5) There are several ways to help.

- Make a one time gift this Sunday.

- Make a commitment to increase your regular giving - you can indicate this on the back of the commitment card

- Make a commitment to give over and above your regular for a set period of time. You can indicate that length of time on the commitment card. The card is set up for a three year commitment, but you can cross out three years and write in a time period that works for you.

5) Fill out your commitment card online - if you won't be on Sunday, make your commitment online here.

6) Make your gift online - We have an online giving option - for more information check out here.

Please Checkout Before Next Sunday

Hey New Lifer's,

Last Sunday we took an unexpected break from our series in Haggai, to talk about the financial challenge our church is facing. If you were at the service, you know we're at an important crossroads.

If you missed last weekend, please take time to listen to the message prior to this coming Sunday (Feb 8) and also read the handout.

Growing in Faith Q & A Meeting

Next Sunday, February 8th, we’re asking members to make a commitment
to Growing in Faith. Up to this point Growing in Faith has focused on the
property. As you found out in today’s service, due to our changing economy, the purpose of Growing in Faith is now expanding to include taking care of our church family here and now.

We want everyone to be informed on what this means. If today’s service made sense, you don’t need to do anything different than you were already planning – just make your Growing in Faith commitment next Sunday as planned. But if you still have questions, we’ve set up a time when you can come and get more information. The meeting will be this Monday, February 2nd at 6:30 at the church. At this meeting, members of the Growing in Faith team will be available to explain what we’re doing, and what it means.

Urgent Please Be at Church This Sunday

Hey New Lifer's,

This Sunday, we need all the members of our church family to make it a priority to attend the morning service.

We're going to take an unexpected break from our series in Haggai to address a challenge that has hit our church hard and fast. As members of the church family you need to know what's happening, what we're planning to do about it, and how it might affect our future.

Next week we'll resume our "regularly scheduled" series in Haggai. So if you're thinking about inviting someone to church (and we hope you are) please wait until next Sunday, because this week we need to talk as family.

Hope to see you then!

Commitment Sunday

On February 8th, we’re asking members to play a part in keeping our property. We’re calling this project Growing in Faith. There are two things you can do to play a part.

1) Grab an information packet - We’re sending out information packets in the middle of January that give details about how to play a part. If you don’t receive one, they will be available at the Information Table.

Pray - Please pray about what you can do to help us take the next step toward a home of our own.

Attend a Meeting

Our church is at a crucial crossroads regarding our plans for a
future church home. On February 8th we're asking members of our
church to help us decide whether or not we can keep our property.

The details are too difficult to explain here, so we're asking
everyone to make time to attend an information meeting. This
meeting is designed to give facts, answer questions and provide you
the information you'll need to decide your participation.

We only have a couple meetings left. The next is tomorrow night
(Thursday evening) at 7:00 pm. We're serving pizza at 6:45, so
come a little early grab something to eat.

Hope to see you then!

Come to a Growing in Faith Information Meeting

Three years ago, our church came together and bought a piece of property. We called this project “Growing in Faith”. As a result of this step of faith, a sign that reads “Future Home of New Life” stands on our land. Now it’s time to time to take the next step forward.

Growing in Faith is an all church project, and we want each member to understand what’s next. For this reason we’ve set up a series of informational meetings between now and the end of the year. We’re asking each member to make the time to attend one of these meetings.

At this meeting, you’ll find out

- Why we’re working toward a church home of our own
- Where we are in the process of moving forward
- A preview of what the building will look like
- What we need to do take the next step
- Ways members can play a part

Pick a Meeting Time that’s Best for You:

- Wednesday, November 19th at 7:00pm
- Tuesday, November 25th at 7:00pm
- Monday, December 1st at 7:00pm

- Tuesday, December 9th at 7:00pm

Indiana Jones and the Plot Plan Approval

What does Indiana Jones and our plot plan approval have in common?  Archaelogy.  Believe it or not, one of the dozen county departments that sign off on our plot plan is Archaeology. Maybe it's to make sure there isn't buried treasure, or dinosaurs camped out on our land.  Anyway...we got approval from the Archaeologist!   That makes two approvals down, about ten to go.

Keep praying as our plot plan goes through the county.

Plot Plan Approval Update

Our Plot Plan is currently in the approval process with the county. Getting the plot plan approved is what gives us official permission to build our proposed church on the property.

As you can see from the screenshot above (if you have real good eyes), it will be reviewed by about a dozen different departments. Good news, we're already approved by the Fire Department!

Once each department has signed off, it will go to a Planning Director's meeting for formal approval. Please pray with us for the speedy approval of our plot plan.

Stay Up to Date -  If you want to stay up to date on the details of our approval status, you can go to this website at the planning department and enter our plot plan number - "pp23454". It will pull up the screen you see at the top of the page with an up to the minute update.

P.S.  Thanks to everyone who is giving to Growing in Faith
