Countdown to Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday is only a few days away. Here are some ways you can play a part.
1) Pray for the service – Pray that God will change lives this Sunday. Pray that many new people will come and experience God’s work in their lives.
2) Invite a friend – Easter is a great time to invite a friend or family member to join you. Take advantage of this weekend to bring someone new.
3) Arrive on time and sit in the middle of the row – Easter tends to be a high attendance day. Help make room for others by arriving on time and scooting to the middle of your row.
4) Reach out and say hello to someone who is new to you – Help create a warm, welcoming service by saying hi to those how are new to you. This Sunday may be a person’s first impression of our church, help make it a friendly impression.
5) If you’re serving, arrive early – If you’re a greeter, or serving in the children’s ministry – arrive early and be ready to go!

Can you help us reach out to 20,000 homes?
If there is one Sunday some who normally doesn’t come to church, might attend, it’s Easter Sunday. We want to
send an invitation to 20,000 neighbors who live within a radius of the church, and we need your help to do it. This outreach is worth it, but it’s not cheap. The total cost of the mailing is $2,820.00. That breaks down to $14.00 to reach 100 people. Can you help with the cost of this outreach. If so, when you make your gift, write “outreach” in the memo area of your check. For online giving options, see here.

Saint Patrick
At the age of 16, Saint Patrick was captured by Irish raiders and taken to Ireland where he became a slave to the chieftain of Ulster. One night, after six years of slavery, Saint Patrick heard a voice, "Behold, thy ship is ready." He traveled two hundred miles on foot to a place where he knew no one and had never been. He wrote in his autobiographical account, "After this I took flight, and left the man with whom I had been six years; and I came in the strength of the Lord, who directed my way for good; and I feared nothing till I arrived at the ship. And on that same day on which I arrived, the ship moved out of its place."
Patrick made his way back to Britain, found his family, and could have lived out the rest of his life in relative comfort in the land of freedom. But in 432 AD, he had another vision. He saw a man coming to him from Ireland carrying innumerable letters. "And I read the beginning of the letter containing 'The voice of the Irish.' And while I was reading aloud the beginning of the letters, I myself thought indeed in my mind that I heard the voice of those who were near the wood of Foclut, which is close by the Western Sea. And they cried out thus as if with one voice, "We entreat thee, holy youth, that thou come, and henceforth walk among us." And I was deeply moved in my heart, and could read no further; and so I woke."
Saint Patrick went back to Ireland as a missionary. No outside religion had penetrated Ireland in a thousand years. Saint Patrick founded more than 300 churches and baptized more than 120,000 people. His ministry was so influential that he came to be known as the one who "found Ireland all heathen and left it all Christian." (From the Batterson Blog)
Are you reading the book of Matthew?
Are you reading the book of Matthew? You are if you're doing the Bible Reading Challenge. We're encouraging members to read a chapter of the Bible each day, and right now we're in the book of Matthew. Matthew is one of the four gospels. The gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, are an account of Jesus' life from his birth to his resurrection.
As you're studying the Bible, if you would like to take advantage of online Bible study tools, check out our Digging Deeper webpage. On it, you'll find free resources to dig deeper into God's word.

Need Counseling?
We desire to spiritually support our members through the different challenges of life. Our primary vehicle for spiritual support are small groups. Small groups are a place where members can share needs, pray for each and receive spiritual support and encouragement.
While we hope that many needs can be meet in small groups, we realize that often times a member may need a trained counselor or a specialized support group to provide the needed help.
While our church does not have “in house” counseling, or support groups, we can point you to two local organizations that can help. These local resources can supplement the spiritual support our church provides. One of the organizations focuses on counseling, the other offers support groups. To learn more, check out our counseling resource page.

Can you lend a helping hand to those in need?
The Bible says “He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.” (Proverbs 19:17). There are members of our community, and even our own church family who are in need. If you would like to find out practical ways to help, check out the following webpage Here
