Baptism Class on February 27th!

For those of you who are interested in Baptism, sign up for our Baptism Class.

Our next Baptism Class will be held on Sunday, February 27th, from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM.

In our Baptism class, you will learn what the Bible teaches us about baptism and why it is an important step in your relationship with God.

January Giving Update

How did we do in the month of January?

We fell short by a total of $9,199.51 for the month of January.

How much does it “cost” to run the church?

For a 5 Sunday month, it takes a minimum of $7,206 a week. This is the bare bones fixed costs of keeping the doors open. It allows us to pay the bills, but leaves little for actual ministry. A more ideal level of funding is $7,600 a week. This allows us to pay the bills and have money for ministry.

How much was the actual giving for the month?

The giving for January averaged $5,365.90 a week, this results in a $1,839.90 a week shortfall from our minimim budget of $7,206. This added up to a monthly shortfall of $9,199.51.

How will this shortfall effect the church?

Thankfully, we had extra funds from 2010 year-end giving that will cover this shortfall, but those extra funds will be completely used to cover this January shortfall. This means that moving forward into February we will not have extra funds to draw upon if we fall short.

Is there anything else I need to know?

If you’re someone who regularly gives to God at New Life: Thanks! Your giving makes a difference.

If you’re someone who is not yet giving: Make a decision to get involved. Take the first step toward the biblical practice of giving.. You can find out more about giving here.

And for everyone: Please take time this week to pray for the finances of both our church family, and the individual families that make up New Life.

Counseling Resources

We desire to spiritually support our members through the different challenges of life. Our primary vehicle for spiritual support are small groups. Small groups are a place where members can share needs, pray for each and receive spiritual support and encouragement.

While we hope that many needs can be meet in small groups, we realize that often times a member may need a trained counselor or a specialized support group to provide the needed help.

While our church does not have “in house” counseling, or support groups, we can point you to two local organizations that can help. These local resources can supplement the spiritual support our church provides. One of the organizations focuses on counseling, the other offers support groups. Cain and Abel

last Sunday we looked at the story of Cain and Abel in Genesis chapter 4. One of the topics we covered was giving. If you would like more information on growing as a giver, check out the giving webpage.

Mexico Outreach

Our church supports an orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico called Casa Hogar. Towards the beginning of each month, a team of volunteers goes on a one-day trip to Ensenada to help share God's love.

Serving in God's Kitchen

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." Matthew 25:35

Our church helps feed those in need on the second Wednesday of each month. We do this through a partnership with a local organization called "God's Kitchen" For more information contact Ingrid Mirander at ingridmirander@yahoo.com or sign-up at the Information Table. 2011 Bible Reading Challenge

The Bible is the inspired word of God that helps us to know God and follow him. Many of us own a Bible, but don’t have a regular plan for reading it. To help bring focus, we’ve put together a Bible reading plan that brings you through a chapter of the Bible each day. If you follow this day by day checklist, you’ll be taking the next step toward knowing more of God’s word.

February Leader's Meeting

Join us for our February leader’s meeting. The meeting is on Monday, February 7th at 7:00 PM. Pizza will be served starting at 6:45 PM. We look forward to seeing all of our leaders there. If you have any questions, please contact your staff leader.

Do you need a Bible?

Need a Bible? We have Bibles available at our information center. These Bible are free and/or available at super low cost. Stop by the tables for more information.

P.S - We buy our Bibles in bulk from the International Bible Society. They offer Bibles in many translations (We use the New International Version) and many languages. If you're interested in learning more about them, you can check out their website.

Online Giving

Do you bank online?

An increasing number of our members are giving their offering using their banks bill pay system. You can set up your giving just like any other account you pay using your bank's online bill pay. You won’t have to worry that you forgot your checkbook or if you miss a service, your giving is already set up. To find out more, check out our online giving page.

Our next Accelerate group starts tonight & dinner is served!

Accelerate is a small group designed to move you forward in your relationship with Christ and your connection to the church family. This group is a great way to take a next step at New Life. If you've been coming to New Life and want to know more about our church, what we believe and where you can get plugged in or more involved, then this is the group for you.

Tonight we kick off the group with dinner to connect and meet one another with a preview of the group and some quick facts about New Life. The group starts at 7:00 PM.
