Dealing with Desires/Temptation

On Sunday we saw that temptation is connected to desire. If you don't like Chocolate, you're not going to be tempted to eat it. Here is a message on dealing with the desires that pull us into problems. It's based on a passage in James 4. It was part of a series called "How Not to Act Dumb".

Bible Reading Challenge

Are you Reading through the book of Numbers? You are if you are following our Bible Reading Challenge. The Bible is the inspired word of God that helps us to know God and follow him. Many of us own a Bible, but don’t have a regular plan for reading it. To help bring focus, we’ve put together a Bible reading plan that brings you through a chapter of the Bible each day. If you follow this day by day checklist, you’ll be taking the next step toward knowing more of God’s word.

Check out our website to download our Bible Reading Challenge checklist.

Would an idiot do that?

April 2011 Giving Update

How did we do in the month of April?

We were $1,583.31 short of making our monthly budget.

How much does it “cost” to run the church?

In a 4 Sunday month, it takes a minimum of $30,803. This is the bare bones fixed costs of keeping the doors open. It allows us to pay the bills and fund a minimal amount to our ministries.

How much was the actual giving for the month?

The giving for April was $29,219.69
.

How do we cover the shortage?

The month of March had a large surplus of giving. We are using this surplus to make up the difference.

Is there anything else I need to know?

  • If you’re someone who regularly gives to God at New Life:
Thanks! Your giving makes a difference.
  • If you’re someone who is not yet giving:
Make a decision to get involved. Take the first step toward the biblical practice of giving. You can find out more about giving here.
  • And for everyone:
Please take time this week to pray for the finances of both our church family, and the individual families that make up New Life.

This Sunday- True Love

Join us for week two of our series, True Love. This week we will look at "How to Not Start Stupid Arguments"
