This weekend's message
On Sunday we talked about Choosing to Avoid the People Who Pull Us Down. We looked at factors to consider in deciding when to let go of people in our lives. As we discussed 1 Corinthians 5:9-13, these were three of the main thoughts:
1) God doesn’t call us to retreat from the world, but to be wise with who we
let into our lives. vs 9-11
2) To experience new life in Christ, there are times I need to cut off bad
influences in my life. vs 11 “Don’t even eat”
3) If someone is smoking in your house, it’s okay to ask them to take it
outside. vs 13 “expel”
If you missed the message, you can listen online or download the life group questions at newlifecommunitychurch.net

Can you help reach our community?
Many of the people who attend New Life came as result of receiving a flyer in the mail. This has been an important way for us to let our community know that we’re here, and that we want to help other’s know Christ. We want to continue this practice by sending a flyer to each home within our immediate area – approximately 20,000 homes. We need your help to do this.
Church finances are tight, so the only way to do this is through a special giving. We’re looking for people who can give, over and above their regular giving, to help us reach out to our community. The total cost breaks down to about $30 to reach 100 people. Can you help with the cost of this outreach? If so, when you make your gift, designate it to “mailer."

December Giving Report
How did we do in the month of December?
We were $5,449 over our monthly budget.
How much does it “cost” to run the church?
In a 5 Sunday month it takes a minimum of $36,804. It allows us to pay the bills and fund a minimal amount to our ministries.
How much was the actual giving for the month?
The giving for this month was $42,253.
Is there anything else I need to know?
If you’re someone who regularly gives to God at New Life: Thanks! Your giving makes a difference.
If you’re someone who is not yet giving: Make a decision to get involved. Take the first step toward the biblical practice of giving. You can find out more about giving here.
And for everyone: Please take time this week to pray for the finances of both our church family, and the individual families that make up New Life.
