Gospel for Asia Outreach

Each month, our church supports a missionary in India through Gospel for Asia. The name of the missionary is Sailendro Kochhap, who serves in the Jeypore Odisha Region shown above.  Please take time to pray for Sailendro.  If you’d like to help financially support Gospel for Asia, just make a note on your giving that says “GFA”.  If you’d like to find out more about Gospel for Asia and the Jeypore Odisha Region, click here.

Recurring Giving

 

At our online giving site, there is the option to set up a recurring gift to the church. You can designate whether you would like this gift debited from your checking account or your credit card. You can also specify whether you want your contribution made one time, weekly, twice per month, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. See below for some frequently asked questions on recurring giving. 


What if I try online giving and don’t like it? There is no requirement to continue to use online giving.  It is very easy to begin or stop. 


What if I need to change the amount of a recurring gift, or cancel altogether? You can view, edit, or delete a scheduled contribution at anytime, including the credit card, date, frequency and amount as long as you created an account on the giving page. 

Are there any fees involved with giving online? Not for the giver.  The church pays any fees associated with online giving.

Is there anything else to know with recurring giving? When you schedule a recurring donation, a small validation amount (.11 cents) will pend on your account BUT WILL NOT be charged or post to your account.  It is only for validation purposes.  Please allow 2-3 days for this to disappear.

Mid-Year Financial Update

We’re halfway through 2015! Here’s a quick update of where our church is at financially as we enter Summer:
 

The Good News - Our church raised over $20,000 to improve and update our church home. We’re thankful for everyone’s generosity.
 

The Bad News - For the last two months our giving has fallen short by $1700 a week. This has made it very difficult to fund the basic bills of the church. We’ve pulled money out of reserves  to cover the difference, but that money is dwindling. We experienced a shortfall in May and June of $1700 a week
 

How you can Help - A shortfall of $1700 a week is significant. But when you consider we have a church of over 100 people, that averages out to only $17 a week per person. With God’s help we can make up this difference! Please pray for God’s hand of blessing.

Preyer Group

As followers of Christ we’re called to seek God.  Jesus tells us “ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find” (Matthew 7:7). 
In order to establish a stronger prayer presence in our church, we’ve launched a new prayer group.  This is an opportunity to gather together to pray for the church and for each other.  

This group is led by Mark Loomis and meets twice a month on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.  The next prayer group meeting will be this Saturday, August 8th at 9:00 am at our church in Room #5.  For more information, email Mark at mloomy1@aol.com.

We’re moving to a new online program for scheduling our volunteers.  It’s called planningcenteronline.com. This program is used by many churches and will improve our organization. 

This Program Will Allow Volunteers to…

• ·      View your schedule online
• ·      Let leaders know what dates you can and can not serve
• ·      Block out dates that when you are not available
• ·      Receive reminder texts or emails on the week you serve 

Over the next month or so we will be working with you to get started with this software.  In the meantime you can check out this intro video.

Are you reading through the book of Revelation?  You are if you're following our Bible Reading Challenge.  The Bible is the inspired word of God that helps us to know God and follow Him.  Many of us own a Bible, but don’t have a regular plan for reading it.  To help bring focus, we’ve put together a Bible reading plan that brings you through a chapter of the Bible each day.  If you follow this day-by-day checklist, you’ll be taking the next step toward knowing more of God’s Word.
