“the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground”  Joshua 3:17

God leads His people out of slavery and into the promised land.  Both when leaving bondage, and when entering the promised land, God parts the water for His people.  When leaving Egypt God divides the Red Sea, and when entering the promised land, God parts the Jordan river.  When it comes to saving us and getting us to where we need to be, God makes a way.  You can read more about the crossing of the Jordan in Joshua chapter 3 and chapter 4.

Promotion Sunday, August 7th

3 things that are happening on Promotion Sunday, August 7th:

1) Kidz are moving up:  We are so excited for the kids to be moving up in grades.  In some cases this may mean moving to the next age division at church.

2) Olympic Game Time for Kids:  To help kick off our Promotion Sunday, we will have some fun and cool Olympic themed games outside after both services.

3) Check-In is Moving:  We want to provide the children with a safe and secure environment.  Starting August 7th, we will move the check in resources to the classrooms.  This will also give teachers, parents and children a better chance to connect.

Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Be Strong Series (7.24.16 Message)

Be Strong and Courageous!  Sunday was the start of a five week series in the life of Joshua.  God’s message in chapter one of the book of Joshua, was “Be Strong and Courageous”.  The following are three things to remember when God calls us to do something hard or scary:

1)    God’s promises will encourage me.
2)    God’s presence will be with me
3)    God’s word will guide me

Our Weekend Service Assistants

We want to give a big thanks to our weekend service assistants!  These four people volunteer once a month to help coordinate our Sunday services.  They are on the scene to keep things on track as we gather to worship God,  So thanks to Jennifer, Kyle, Aaryn and Nick!

Bible Reading Challenge

Take the challenge of reading one chapter each day, from the book of Joshua.  If you chose to accept this mission, you’ll finish reading the book of Joshua in 24 days.  God calls Joshua to “do everything written” in His word (Joshua 1:8).  Reading God’s word is a great step toward becoming a more Bible centered follower of Christ.

Mid-Year Financial Update @ New Life

We’re halfway through 2016! Here’s a quick update of where our church's finances are:

First of all...  We want to say thanks to God for providing for our church and we want to thank all who generously give at New Life.  With God’s help and your support we’ve shared Christ, done ministry, reached out to our community and improved our church building.

Now for the numbers…  For the first six months of 2016, our weekly giving fell short of our base budget by $175 a week. Obviously a short fall is not ideal, but to put it in perspective, at this same time last year our weekly shortfall was $1700 a week.  Compared to that, $175 is looking way better!  Another way to put this into perspective is to realize, that with a church of 100 people, this amount averages out to less than $2 a person, per week.  As you can see, we are really close to hitting our budget!

So thanks again to all who give, and please pray with us for God’s hand of blessing on our church's finances!

For more information on giving go to www.newlifecommunitychurch.net/giving.
