On Sunday we talked about what to do when you feel like giving up. Here are the main thoughts from the service.
1) Know that it’s going to take effort, so prepare your mind for action. Vs 13 “prepare you mind for action”
2) Keep your eyes on the finish line. Vs 13 “Set you hope…”
3) Understand that our old desires will try to pull us back. Vs 14 “do not conform to the evil desires”
4) Stay focused on God’s call to become like Him. Vs 16 “Be holy, because I am holy”
5) Realize that one day we will give an account to God. Vs 17 “who judges each man’s work”
6) Accept that as a follower of Christ there will be times we don’t fit in. Vs 17 “live..as..strangers… in reverent fear”
7) Remember that our old way of life wasn’t that great, or else we wouldn’t have left it. Vs 18 “empty way of life”
8) Remember the price Christ paid to rescue us from our sin and don’t go back. Vs 18-21 “the precious blood of Christ”.
