On Sunday we looked at the building of the tabernacle. The passage starts out by God calling His people to bring an offering. Specifically, God issues a call to those whose hearts “prompt them to give”. God’s appeal is those who voluntarily want to give back to the God who had delivered them from slavery with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm.
Years later, when collecting an offering to build the permanent temple, King David sees a similar generosity of the people and prays, “O Lord, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep this desire in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you.”
Take a moment to pray that our church would be filled with people’s whose hearts prompt them to give to the Lord.
