Thanks for everyone who is praying for Mike Hannah. As you know a month or so ago he was experiencing some chest pains, and went through some testing. Here is an update from Mike:
Hey New Lifers,
I just got back the results on two of my heart tests, an echo cardiogram and a stress test (that’s when they hook you up with wires and make you run on a treadmill). Both of the results came back great, so praise God for that!
It still doesn’t account for the chest pains, so the next step is to go back to my primary physician and explore another line of testing.
The good news is that the chest pains have greatly decreased. So thanks to everyone who is praying and please continue to remember me in prayer!
Today (Tuesday) we received an email from the owner of the building. He just received the final conditions from the county on his construction project and hopes to get to us soon on the proposed cost for space we want to lease. We’ll keep you updated as information comes in. Thanks to everyone who is praying. --

We've also included a link if you want to dig deeper.
Why do people cheer at football games, applaud at performances and raise their arms in victory after winning a game? Because when you’re pumped up on the inside, it shows on the outside! It seems that people have a built in desire to express what’s inside. Bring a friend and join us this Sunday, as we start our new series, “Inside Out”.
Here are the series topics
Inside Out Worship – August 19th Inside Out Giving – August 26th Inside Out Living – September 2nd

We are going to be having volleyball, tug o’ war competitions between students and their parents, and also a special beach baptism at 3:00pm. Activities and lunch begin at noon. Did you notce the caution tape on Sunday morning? It's not a crime scene. It's an experiment. We're roping off sections of the auditorium to bring people closer together.
At the 9:30 service we're trying to keep everyone in the middle section of the auditorium. At the 11:00 service we're using two sections of the seating.
Here are two ways you can help.
Leave the back row open for people with strollers and those who have trouble using the stairs
When you take a seat, help us by moving toward the middle of the section
If you have any questions, please contact Seth Schmit our service coordinator - seth@newlifecommunitychurch.net

Join us this Sunday as we continue our “One Hit Wonders” series. The one chapter book of the Bible we’ll be looking at is 3rd John. The one hit wonder for that book is Kung Fu Fighting - come this Sunday and find out why we picked that song. Get a head start and read 3 John before Sunday. See you then.
On Sunday we looked at the Bible book - 2nd John. Verse six describes love as walking in God's commands, and then goes on to share that God's command is to love. This verse gives us two perspectives - Love Based Obedience, and Obedience Based Love. Here is visual of the circular motion we discussed. We can obey because we love and we can love because we obey. Which of the two do you most need to focus on right now?
To hear the message go to www.newlifemessages.blogspot.com
We post our videos on YouTube. To date we've had over 1800 views of our church's videos. If you're on YouTube. Our username is "newlifeca" (as in New Life California - "new life" was already taken). Did you know that each month we send out a outreach mailing to new homeowners? This mailer contains a letter welcoming them to the community, information about our church and an invitation to our current series.
We send out approximately 300 a month to people who are new in community. God is using them to reach out to others. Here is a portion of an email we recieved this month from someone who received our mailer....
"I received you're "welcome to the neighborhood" mailing after we purchased our home. We currently attend another church, but might be looking to move to something a bit smaller....thanks for the mailer!
The money for this outreach came from a special gift that is running out. But we would like to continue this important outreach.
It takes about $250 a month to mail these out. If you would like to contribute toward this, write "new homeowner mailing" in the memo area of your check. In the meantime, please pray that God would use these to reach out to people in our community.
