Kingdom of God Workshop

Join us for a workshop that studies the Biblical concept of the Kingdom of God, the role of signs, wonders and miracles, and the power of the Holy Spirit. This three week workshop will start on Tuesday, February 2nd at 7:00 pm.

Here are some of the topics we’ll look at…

· Does God still miraculously heal today?

· In the Bible Jesus often cast out demons, does that still happen?

· What is the “Kingdom of God”, and is it now, or does it come later?

· In the New Testament it seems like God did many signs and wonders, was just for back then, or is it still for today?

Are you interested in a morning Bible study?

Do you want to attend a small group, but find it difficult to go in the evening? We’re considering launching a mid-morning small group. It would be on a weekday, probably around 11:00 am or so. The group would be open to both men and women. Right now we’re trying to gauge interest. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, let us know by sending an email to groups@newlifecommunitychurch.net

Looking Ahead to 2010 – Sunday Morning Topics

Here is a heads up on some of the topics we plan to cover in 2010. Much of the time we go through books of the Bible, this will be true in the new year. We’re going to go through three books of the Bible that we’ve never looked at before as a church – Ezekial, Ecclesiastes, and 1 Timothy.

We’re also planning several series about the life of Christ – “Savior” that will happen right before Easter, and “The Seven Signs of Jesus”. In the book of John, there are seven miracles recorded and we’ll look at each. We have other messages planned, you’ll hear more as the year roles on.

Join Us this Sunday & Christmas Eve

The Grinch that Stole Christmas?

A recent article has entitled this recession, “ The Grinch that Stole Christmas”. Store sales are down, and there is less money to go around. In the past, the average family spends over $1500 on Christmas, there are presents to buy, decorations, lights, trees, parties, and more.

But for many people this will be a more simple Christmas, and that can be a good thing. Just like the Grinch discovered, you can take away all the presents and decorations and clutter, but you can’t take away the meaning of Christmas. Join us this Christmas for “A Simple Christmas”.

This two part series will take place on Sunday, December 20th, and Christmas Eve on Thursday, December 24th.

Service times for Sunday December 20th are 9:30 and 11:00 am. The service time for our Christmas Eve service time is 5:30 pm.

Small Groups are Great

I (Mike Hannah) stopped by several of our small groups this week. What struck me is what great people we have at our church. I appreciate members who are willing to open their homes and host, those who attend, and those who lead the groups. After Christmas I hope to visit more of the small groups. If you're reading this post, hope to see you in a group when I stop by!

For more information you can check out our small groups here.

Digging Deeper in Daniel

Right now we're doing a series in the book of Daniel. On Sunday's we're looking at the major stories in Daniel, but there is also important prophecies. On week five of our series we're going to look at two of the major prophecies, but there is much more in Daniel. If you want to go in-depth, here is a link to a commentary on the book of Daniel.
