3rd Quarter Financial Update

Fall is here and it’s time for a financial update.  Although our church has many generous members, we continue to experience a shortfall in giving.

As many of you know, our church got hit with a big rent increase this year.  This increase put a strain on an already stretched budget.

Our giving has fallen short by a total of $22,246 during the first 9 months of the year.  This averages out to a shortfall of $2471 a month.

While this shortfall is significant, with God’s help, it’s something that together we can overcome.  Please pray and play a part as we seek God’s help to improve our finances.

Mexico Christmas Outreach

Our church supports an orphanage in Ensendada, Mexico called Estado 29.  Our goal for the Christmas season is to have every child at the orphanage supported with a gift.  Below are a few ways to play a part:

   1) Select a child to sponsor from the Christmas
tree on Sundays at our information tent this
        Sunday, October 29th

  2) Buy an age appropriate gift, such as: clothing,
shoes, etc.  Information that is needed is also on
the back of the photo of the child you choose to
       sponsor

  3) Please return all gifts no later than Sunday,
       November 19th

Thank you for your support!

"Savior" Series (10.22.17 Message)

On Sunday, we continued our "Savior" series.  Our topic: "You Give Them Something to Eat".  See below for more...

Five thoughts for when God asks you to do something overwhelming:

1) Choose to focus on what I have, instead of which I
    don't.

2) Put the little I have into Christ's hands.
3) Be grateful and give thanks to God.
4) Step out in faith and start obeying God with what
    He's given me.

5) Remember that overwhelming situations are an
opportunity to experience God's all powerful help.

Communion in Life Groups

Christ calls us to take communion “In remembrance” of Him (Luke 22:19).  We serve communion from time to time in our weekend services and large group settings, but the primary place communion happens is in our life groups.  Communion takes place in the groups monthly, usually on the third week of the month.

So if you’re not plugged in to a life group, get involved.  You can find out more about groups by checking out the life group webpage here.

Use Questions for Personal Growth

Each week we provide an outline during the weekend service.  On one side, we provide the Bible passage to look at during the service. on the other side, there are discussion questions that connect to that same weekly passage.

These questions are used by our Life Groups that meet throughout the week.  These same questions can be used as a personal study tool.  If you are not yet part of a group, you can use these questions during your personal Bible study time.  They can provide an opportunity to dig deeper and reinforce the passage from the previous weekend’s service. Also, if you miss a service, both the message and the questions can be downloaded online.

"Savior" Series (10.8.17 Message)

On Sunday, we started our "Savior" series.  Our topic: If You're Willing, You Can Make Me Clean.  See below for more...

Three Thoughts on Coming to Jesus with My Needs:

1) Come to Jesus with humility.
2) Come to Jesus with faith.
3) Come to Jesus with a deference to God's will.

Experiencing God's Power and Accepting God's will

    1) It's always in God's power to heal, it's just not
always in His purpose to heal us now.
    2) If God hasn't answered your prayer, it's not
because it's not His will to help you.
    3) If God hasn't answered your prayer, it doesn't
mean He's not working in your life in a
         powerful way.

    4) If God hasn't answered your prayer, it's not
due to a lack of love.

    5) Instead of being discouraged by what God has
yet to do, be thankful for what He has already
         given us in Christ Jesus.

"I Have A Question" Series (10.1.17 Message)

On Sunday, we finished our "I Have A Question" series.  See below for more...

1) Isn't it true that many Christians are hypocrites
and don't practice what they preach?

2) Why should anyone take Christianity seriously,
when over the years, so many bad things have
been done in the name of God?

3) Why are Christians so intolerant/narrow-minded
    /judgmental?

Judging is when...

    1) I look down on you from a position of self-
         superiority.
    2) I'm more upset about your sin, then humbled
         by my own sin.
    3) I hold you to a level of scrutiny that I don't
         want for myself.

    4) I make a pronouncement based on an
         uninformed understanding.

    5) I belittle your position, based not on the
validity of your idea, but on you as a person.

The goal - speak the truth in love.
