Gift to the King

The holidays are a time of tradition.  One of the traditions at New Life is our annual “Gift to the King” Christmas offering. Every holiday season we offer an opportunity to give a special gift, over and above our regular giving towards Christ’s work at our church. Stop by the Information Table to pick up an envelope this Sunday.

Hey Kidzlife Volunteers!

Kidzlife Volunteers...
Beginning in 2013 we are implementing a major overhaul of safety procedures in our Kidzlife ministry. The goal is to better ensure a safe, fun, learning environment for our church's kids. Therefore we are asking all Kidzlife volunteers to attend a special meeting in order to receive and review a copy of the new guidelines.

We appreciate your service to our kids and we know that you share our concern for the safety of each child entrusted to our care. Please make it a priority to attend the special upcoming meeting. The date is this Sunday, December 2nd. The time is 12:10 to 12:40 p.m. after the morning services in room #5.

New Series Beginning this Sunday!

“I won’t give up without a fight!”
If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t easily give up, then you know that life often involves a battle.  That battle might be fighting to stay on track when temptation pulls you off course.  It can be fighting for your family, when the pressures of life come crashing in. Maybe it’s a battle to stop a bad habit, or a struggle to maintain your integrity in a difficult work situation.

If you’re someone who’s trying to fight the good fight, come and hear what the Bible says about life’s battles. Join us this Sunday, December 2nd, as a new series begins– “Fight Club”

Topics will include:
·      Don't Fight the Wrong Battle
·      Don't Bring a Squirt Gun to a Knife Fight
·      Be Willing to Fight for Others

Service times at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. For additional resources and directions check out our webpage at newlifecommunitychurch.net

Interested in Serving?

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)

As believers, God calls us to make a contribution to the cause of Christ.  One way we do this is by using our gifts to serve others.
To find out more about serving at New Life, check out our Serving and Intro to Serving pages on our website.

Special Announcement from the November 18th Service

The following is a summary of an important announcement made during yesterday’s weekend service:

The situation: Our church is facing a difficult situation. Due to our giving levels, we are continuing to fall short of paying our most basic bills by approximately $1000 a week. Many of you know the giving has been low, but we need to share the severity of the situation. At the point we’re at, unless things change, the most likely outcome is that we will not be able to continue meeting in this building. At the present rate, this could happen as soon as ten months from now.

What we have already done: Up to this point, we have…

·       Contacted our landlord to reduce the rent
·       Cut out all but the most basic ministry expenses
·       Cut the number of church staff
·       Asked all remaining staff to take cuts
·       Covered shortfalls out of a rapidly dwindling reserve fund.

In light of this, we are still facing a shortfall of $1000 a week.

What needs to happen. In order to stay in this building, we need to see the giving increase by $1000 a week. This sounds like a big number, but when you consider that we have over 100 adults who attend New Life, this amount, when averaged out, represents a shortfall of less than $10 a week per person. It is shortfall we can overcome. We know that many of you have your own financial struggles, but by sharing this need, we hope that together we can make a difference.

What you can do: As a member you can do two things…

·       Play a part through regular giving – The solution is to the see the regular giving our church go up.  If you are not yet giving, now is the time to get started. If you are giving, maybe God will use this need to increase your generosity.

·       Pray for Gods provision for our church - We believe that God has something better for our church. Lives are being changed at New Life, and we want that to continue. Let’s pray for a solution to this situation.

In conclusion: If you have any questions, please let us know at finance@newlifecommunitychurch.net. Also, you can follow our progress by reading the monthly giving reports that we post on the blog – www.newlifeblog.net.

Using the Small Group Questions as Study Tool

Each week, we provide an outline during the weekend service. On one side, we provide the Bible passage to look at during the service. On the other side, there are discussion questions that connect to that same weekly passage. These questions are designed to interact and apply the passage.

These questions are used by our Life Groups that meet throughout the week. But these same questions can be used as a personal study tool. If you are not yet part of a group, you can use these questions during your personal Bible study time. They can provide an opportunity to dig deeper and reinforce the passage from the previous weekend’s service. Also, if you miss a service, both the message and the questions can be downloaded online.

We serve communion from time to time in our weekend services and large group settings, but the primary place communion happens is in our life groups. October Giving Report

October Giving Report

How did we do in the month of October?
We were $1,600.02 short of our monthly budget.

How much does it “cost” to run the church?
In a 4 Sunday month it takes a minimum of $30,605.  It allows us to pay the bills and fund a minimal amount to our ministries.

How much was the actual giving for the month?
The giving for this month was $29,004.98

Here is a quick snapshot of this year:

Is there anything else I need to know?
If you’re someone who regularly gives to God at New Life: Thanks! Your giving makes a difference.

If you’re someone who is not yet giving: Make a decision to get involved. Take the first step toward the biblical practice of giving. You can find out more about giving here.

And for everyone: Please take time this week to pray for the finances of both our church family, and the individual families that make up New Life.
