Opportunities to Play a Part at New Life!

Help us in our mission as a church! Below our some ways to get plugged in and "On Mission":

1) Bulletins: Volunteer every other month helping to fold, stuff, and prepare the bulletins for our weekly services. This involves a weekly pick up and drop off of bulletin materials and about 1 hour to package bulletins for the month you serve.

2) Info Center Host: Welcome and assist service attendees at our info center after the 9:30 or 11 am service. This is a once a month or every other week position.

3) Kidzlife Check-In Center Host: Welcome and assist parents checking in their kids for classes. This involves arriving early to the 9:30 or 11 am service. This is a once a month or every other week position.

4) Greeters: Greet and assist service attenders at our 9:30 or 11 am service. This involves arriving early to one of the services. This is a once a month or every other week position.

5) Refreshments: Provide a welcoming and connecting atmosphere by preparing snacks & drinks for our weekly services. This is a once a month position preparing for both services. This involves purchasing & preparing snacks during the week, arriving at 10:10 am on Sunday to set up for first service. Then also setting up for the 2nd service.

Using the Small Group Questions Without a Group

During the weekend service an outline is usually provided for following along with the message. On the back of the outline are questions that our small groups discuss during the week. These questions usually revolve around the passage we covered during the weekend service.

Our hope is that members will find a small group to plug into. But even if you are not part of a group, you can still use these questions for personal study during the week.

Set aside time, either once a week, or a little bit each day, and work through the questions on your own. It’s an opportunity to think through God’s word and how you can apply it in your life.

P.S. You can download the questions here

Counseling Resources

We desire to spiritually support our members through the different challenges of life. Our primary vehicle for spiritual support are small groups. Small groups are a place where members can share needs, pray for each and receive spiritual support and encouragement.

While we hope that many needs can be meet in small groups, we realize that often times a member may need a trained counselor or a specialized support group to provide the needed help.

While our church does not have “in house” counseling, or support groups, we can point you to two local organizations that can help. These local resources can supplement the spiritual support our church provides. One of the organizations focuses on counseling, the other offers support groups. To learn more, check out our Counseling Resource Page.

One more video of the Appreciation event. Thanks to all who volunteer.

Video from Appreciation Dinner

Here's a video we showed during last night's volunteer appreciation dinner.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

A fun part of our bi-annual volunteer appreciation dinner is the games. At last nights dinner, we ended with a tie between two teams. A tie-breaker was set up - the first team that could drink two bottles of cream soda is declared the winner. Here it is.

Serve at New Life

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)

As believers, God calls us to make a contribution to the cause of Christ. One way we do this is by using our gifts to serve others.

May 2011 Giving Update

How did we do in the month of May?

We were $2,482.32 over our monthly budget.

How much does it “cost” to run the church?

In a 5 Sunday month, it takes a minimum of $35,747 to run the church. This is the bare bones fixed costs of keeping the doors open. It allows us to pay the bills and fund a minimal amount to our ministries.

How much was the actual giving for the month?

The giving for May was $38,229.32

What do we do with the excess giving?

Currently we are allocating money for our monthly costs and keeping excess funds to help cover possible future giving that does not cover the monthly budget.

Is there anything else I need to know?
  • If you’re someone who regularly gives to God at New Life: Thanks! Your giving makes a difference.
  • If you’re someone who is not yet giving: Make a decision to get involved. Take the first step toward the biblical practice of giving. You can find out more about giving here.
  • And for everyone: Please take time this week to pray for the finances of both our church family, and the individual families that make up New Life.

Small Group Communion

Christ calls us to take communion “In remembrance” of Him (Luke 22:19). We serve communion from time to time in our weekend services and large group settings, but the primary place communion happens is in our small groups. Communion takes place in the groups monthly, usually on the fourth week of the month. So if you’re not plugged in to a small group, get involved. You can find out more about groups by checking out the small group webpage.
