Baptism Class

Our next baptism is coming up. To find out more about baptism come to our baptism class on Sunday, October 6th from 12:15 to 1:00 pm. In our Baptism class, you will learn what the Bible teaches us about baptism and why it is an important step in your relationship with God.

Getting More out of 1 Peter

We’re beginning a series through the book of 1 Peter on Sunday mornings.  The following are some ideas for getting more out of this book of the Bible…. 
 

1) Read a chapter of First Peter prior to the weekend service– Get a head start by reading a chapter in the book of 1 Peter. That way when you show up on Sunday, you’ll be familiar with the passage we’ll be discussing. 

2)  Join a Life Group to discuss the book of 1 Peter.  Each week our Life groups meet and look at the passage from the previous Sunday. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more. 

3) Take advantage of online Bible study tools.  One good website is http://www.biblestudytools.com.

Join us for Week Three of Accelerate - Tomorrow Night at 6:45 pm.

Tomorrow is Week 3 of Accelerate!

Join us tomorrow night for week three of Accelerate.  We’ll look at important truth from God’s word. Here are some of the questions we will cover:

• ·      If God can do anything, how come He didn’t just forgive everyone, how come Christ had to die?
• ·      How can a person make up for the wrong they’ve done in life?
• ·      As a Christian, I’ve committed a really big sin, how can I know whether or not God will forgive me?
• ·      How about if I asked Christ into my life, but now I have doubts?
• ·      How can person know whether or not they’re going to heaven?
• ·      How can I tell whether or not I really have God in my life?

The workshop starts at 6:45 pm in room 5. See you then!

What To Do When You Feel Like Giving Up

On Sunday we talked about what to do when you feel like giving up.  Here are the main thoughts from the service. 

1) Know that it’s going to take effort, so prepare your mind for action. Vs 13 “prepare you mind for action”

2) Keep your eyes on the finish line. Vs 13 “Set you hope…”

3) Understand that our old desires will try to pull us back. Vs 14  “do not conform to the evil desires”  

4) Stay focused on God’s call to become like Him. Vs 16 “Be holy, because I am holy”

5) Realize that one day we will give an account to God. Vs 17 “who judges each man’s work”

6) Accept that as a follower of Christ there will be times we don’t fit in.  Vs 17 “live..as..strangers… in reverent fear”

7) Remember that our old way of life wasn’t that great, or else we wouldn’t have left it. Vs 18 “empty way of life”

8) Remember the price Christ paid to rescue us from our sin and don’t go back. Vs 18-21 “the precious blood of Christ”.

Each month, our church supports a missionary in India through Gospel for Asia. The name of the missionary is Sailendro Kochhap, who serves in the Jeypore Orissa Region shown above. Life Group Questions for Personal Growth

Each week, we provide an outline during the weekend service. On one side, we provide the Bible passage to look at during the service. On the other side, there are discussion questions that connect to that same weekly passage. These questions are designed to interact and apply the passage. 

These questions are used by our Life Groups that meet throughout the week. But these same questions can be used as a personal study tool. If you are not yet part of a group, you can use these questions during your personal Bible study time. They can provide an opportunity to dig deeper and reinforce the passage from the previous weekend’s service. Also, if you miss a service, both the message and the questions can be downloaded online.

Biblical Assurence

Do you ever struggle with feelings of whether or not you’re going to heaven?   

You’re not the first person. God’s word tells us that it’s possible to know where we’ll be spending eternity. We’ve prepared some materials that will walk you through what the Bible teaches on this topic. These self-study materials are designed to give you a stronger sense of your standing with God. Accelerate Begins Next Week!

Accelerate is a group designed to move you forward in your relationship with Christ and your connection to the church family.
