Baptism Class

Our next Baptism Class is coming up.  To find out more about baptism come to our baptism class on Sunday, July 12th from 12:15 to 1:00 pm.  In our Baptism class, you will learn what the Bible teaches us about baptism and why it is an important step in your relationship with God.

Giving Update

Here’s a quick giving update.  During the past month we’ve experienced both encouraging and challenging circumstances.  For example.

Encouraging -  We raised over $20,000 for our building improvement project. 

Challenging - Our regular giving fell short by over $8,000.

We are thrilled at the response of our church in raising money to improve our building.  It far exceeded our goal.  We also ask your help in praying for the regular giving. Summer is a difficult time when it comes to church finances. Let’s pray for God’s hand of blessing on our regular giving.

Camp - Sponsor a Student

Our summer camps are coming up. Our high school group will head up to Hume Lake from July 19th-25th. The cost of camp is $500.

Each year, we have students who are unable to afford camp. If you would like to help financially support students to go to camp, please write "camp sponsor" on your gift to New Life. You can either give your support in the regular offering or send it to the church offices at:

Serve in Kidzlife

Want to make a difference in the life of a child?
If so, consider serving as a classroom helper in our Kidzlife children’s program. As a Kidzlife volunteer, you’ll play a part in helping children become grounded and growing in their relationship with Christ. 
Here are some places where you can volunteer once or twice a month at either our 9:30 or 11:00 service:

• Welcome/Check-in Tent
• Nursery Team
• Preschool Team
• 1st-4th Grade Team
• 5th-6th Grade Team

Building Improvement Project Update

Dear Members

Thanks so much to everyone who gave to the building improvement project.  Here’s a quick update on the progress we’ve made so far…

-  The exterior sign on the building is fixed

-  The heater in the auditorium is fixed (we’ll need it winter!)

 - The A/C in the youth room is fixed  (We need it now!)

-  The auditorium ceiling is fixed

-  The TV is replaced in the lobby

-  The external speaker outside the auditorium is fixed

- A malfunctioning microphone is replaced

- There is a new server for the church network

- We have some new signs and banners outside

- Some of the repainting has begun

We still have more improvements to make.   Keep your eyes open for other changes.

Online Giving

What if I try online giving and don’t like it? 
There is no requirement to continue to use online giving.  It is very easy to begin or stop. 

What if I need to change the amount of a recurring gift, or cancel altogether? 
You can view, edit, or delete a scheduled contribution at anytime, including the credit card, date, frequency and amount as long as you created an account on the giving page. 

Are there any fees involved with giving online? 
Not for the giver.  The church pays any fees associated with online giving.

Is there anything else to know with recurring giving? 
When you schedule a recurring donation, a small validation amount (.11 cents) will pend on your account BUT WILL NOT be charged or post to your account.  It is only for validation purposes.  Please allow 2-3 days for this to disappear.

At our online giving site, there is the option to set up a recurring gift to the church. You can designate whether you would like this gift debited from your checking our credit card. You can also specify whether you want your contribution made one time, weekly, twice per month, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. See below for some frequently asked questions on recurring giving.

Mexico Outreach - Donate Items

Our church supports the Estado 29 Orphanage near Ensenada, Mexico. A practical way to show Christ’s love is to donate items to the children at Estado 29. The orphanage has an ongoing need of basic items to help care for the children. 

Household items

·    toilet paper (most needed)

·    cooking oil (most needed)

·    dish cleaning liquid

·    clothes cleaning liquid

·    clorox

·    pine-sol

·    windex

·    shampoo

·    toothpaste

·    deodorants

·    feminine hygiene products

Food items

·    powder milk

·    chocolate mix for milk

·    coffee

·    sugar

·    beans

·    rice

Smaller items may be dropped off in the Mexico drop box on the 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month. 
For larger items please contact Jacob Ruiz to make arrangements for the supplies to be directly delivered to him. This will help to keep donations organized and ensure they get to the orphanage in a timely manner. You can reach Jacob at 760-218-9683.

Can you pray for members of our church?

Can You Pray for Members of Our Church?  If so, you may want to join our prayer team.  Each week, members of our church turn in personal prayer requests.  These prayer requests are put on a prayer list and sent to those who will left them up in prayer.  If you have a desire to pray for others, you may be a great fit for this prayer team. 

People who are part of this prayer team must be members of New Life and must make a commitment to keep all requests confidential.

Youth Beach Trip This Wednesday!!

Would you like to volunteer in our Church Office?

Our church has a great team of volunteers that help each week in our church offices!  They assist with many of the important midweek activities that serve our church family. Volunteers help with data entry, record keeping, planning for events, desktop publishing, following up with prayer requests, assisting with workshops, folding and labeling, and other office tasks.

Prayer Group

 

As followers of Christ we’re called to seek God.  Jesus tells us “ask and it will begiven to you, seek and you will find” (Matthew 7:7). 

  
In order to establish a stronger prayer presence in our church, we’ve launched a new prayer group.  This group is led by Mark Loomis and meets twice a month on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
  
This is an opportunity to gather together to pray for the church and for each other.  The next prayer group meeting will be this Saturday, June 13th at 9:00 am at our church in Room #4.  For more information, email Mark at mloomy@aol.com.

Help Us Share the Good News

 

There are over 400,000 people within driving distance of our church and many of them need to hear about Jesus Christ.  Will you play a part in helping share Christ’s love?  Between now and Fall we want to reach out to our community. Here are some practical ways you can play a part. 

1) Take advantage of everyday opportunities to point people to  Christ.  Let your light shine through your everyday conversations and actions.  Let people see that Christ is real in your life.

2) Help spread the Word on Facebook – Each time we start a new series, we post an invitation on Facebook.  Help spread the word by hitting the “share” button when the post shows up in your Facebook feed.

3) Pass along an Invite card – When a new series comes around our church usually puts invite cards in the bulletin.  Hand a card to someone you know, or place a card in a public place, maybe a bulletin board at work.

4) Help us reach out via mail and web – From time to time our church mails invitations into the community.  The cost for the mailing breaks down to about $15 to reach a hundred homes.  Other times we use online methods of outreach.  You can play a part by making a special gift to help with our next community outreach.

5) Pray for our church to reach people for Christ -Take time this week to pray that God would use our outreach efforts to reach people for Christ.

New Series "Focus" starts Sunday, June 14th

When learning to swing a bat we’re told, “Keep your eyes on the ball”.  When learning to drive we’re told,  “Keep your eyes on the road”.  When competing, we’re told,  “Keep your eyes on the prize”.   Focus is huge!  Join us for the start of our new series on Sunday, June 14^th as we learn to keep our “Focus” in the right place.  The start of a new series is also a great time to invite others, so bring a friend.  

Topics for the series include:

·      Keeping My Focus During Hardship: Putting Pain in Perspective

·      Keeping My Focus on a Right Heart
