The Real Saint Patrick

Saint Patrick’s day isn’t about leprechauns and four leaf clovers, it’s about one the greatest missionaries in Europe. Saint Patrick, "The Apostle of Ireland", was born about the end of the 4th century, probably somewhere along the west coast of Britain. When he was about sixteen he was captured by Irish raiders and taken as a slave to Ireland, where he lived for six years before escaping and returning to his family. He entered the church, and later returned to Ireland as a missionary, risking his life, to bring the gospel to the very people that took him captive. In doing so he faced many hardships. This Saint Patricks day – remember the commitment of on person to share the gospel.
