Do you follow our blog?
Do you follow our blog? If so, here's a timesaving tip. Many people "surf" the web and go from blog to blog to check out the latest postings. But it's possible to subscribe to our blog via newsreader or “aggregator". This program will pull the latest blog postings to your computer via something called an RSS Feed. (The icon above is a popular symbol that designates an RSS feed).
There are many popular (and free) newsreader programs out there. Here is a link for more information if you are interested - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aggregator

Baggage: The Starting Point For True Change
This past Sunday was the beginning of our new
“Baggage” series. The focus was on
the starting point for true change.
The main text was Ephesians 4:17-24. Here
are the points that were shared.
1.
True change happens when I realize that staying
the same is no longer an option. Vs 17 “no longer live as…”
2.
True change happens when I embrace God’s call to
a changed live. Vs 17 ““so I tell you this, and insist on it”
3.
True change happens when I understand God’s plan
for lasting change. Vs 20-21
“you were taught…”
4.
True change starts on the inside. Vs 22
“desires”
5.
True change happens when I change my attitude and
my thinking. Vs 23 “made new in the attitude of your minds”
6.
True change happens when I ask God to make me a
new person. Vs 24 “new self”

Offering Envelopes
Would You LIke To Help Reach Out To Our Community?
Many of the people who attend New Life, first came as result of receiving a flyer in the mail. This has been an important way for us to let our community know that we’re here, and that we want to help other’s know Christ. We want to continue this practice by sending a flyer to each home within our immediate area – approximately 20,000 homes. We need your help to do this.
Church finances are tight, so the only way to do this is through a special giving. We’re looking for people who can give, over and above their regular giving, to help us reach out to our community. The total cost breaks down to about $30 to reach 100 people. Can you help with the cost of this outreach? If so, when you make your gift, designate it to “mailer."

Are You Interested In Serving?
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)
As believers, God calls us to make a contribution to the cause of Christ. One way we do this is by using our gifts to serve others. To find out more about serving at New Life, check out our Serving and Intro to Serving pages on our website.

August 2012 Giving Update
How did we do in the month of August? We were $5,631.23 short of our monthly budget.
How much does it “cost” to run the church?
In a 4 Sunday month it takes a minimum of $30,605. It allows us to pay the bills and fund a minimal amount to our ministries.
How much was the actual giving for the month?
The giving for this month was $24,973.77
Here is a quick snapshot of this year:
Is there anything else I need to know?
If you’re someone who regularly gives to God at New Life: Thanks! Your giving makes a difference.
If you’re someone who is not yet giving: Make a decision to get involved. Take the first step toward the biblical practice of giving. You can find out more about giving here.
And for everyone: Please take time this week to pray for the finances of both our church family, and the individual families that make up New Life.
