2017 Mid-Year Financial Update
Thanks to everyone who gives to God at New Life!
We’re halfway through the year and it’s time for a quick
financial update.
The good news:
With God’s help and your generosity, we’ve shared Christ, taught God’s word,
reached out to our community.
The bad news:
Even with many generous members, we still fell short of our basic expenses
by -$348
a week. To stay afloat we drained down reserves and operated on a bare
bones budget.
Please take a moment to pray for God’s hand of provision as
we start the second half of the year.
A shortfall of $348 is something we can overcome!
Who's Your One?

information, visit our ONE webpage here.
"In Christ" Workshop
The Bible teaches that as followers of Jesus we are “In Christ”. Understanding our position in “In Christ” is key to realizing all that Christ has done for us. As part of this workshop we’ll explore the Christian’s relationship to the law and the Ten Commandments. This workshop will be on Tuesdays, August 8th, 15th, and 22nd at 7:00 p.m. You can sign up at our info center on Sundays after service, or email us here.

In order to do this, we hope to raise $4000 of special giving. If you would like to play a part, make a gift, and include a note that it’s for “outreach”. Thanks for helping in the mission of Christ.

7.23.17 Message
Can God create a rock bigger than He can lift? If our answer is “no”, then it appears we’re limiting God’s power. If we say “yes”, then we end up with a rock that appears to be greater than God. Either way, it seems that God is caught between a rock and hard place!
On Sunday we tackled the “rock” question and discussed the nature of God. To listen to the message, click here.

On Mission
Our purpose as a church is to...
“reach people for Christ and get them grounded, growing and on mission”.
In this post we’re going to look at what it means to be “on mission”
Someone who is on mission for Christ…
1) Makes a commitment to the body of Christ .
Scripture says that we’re all members of one body –the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12) Someone who is on mission for Christ recognizes the importance of the body of Christ and makes a commitment to play their part as members of Christ’s church.
2) Makes a contribution to the cause of Christ.
The Bible says that Christ’s ministry is done as each person plays their part (Eph 4:16) Someone who is on mission for Christ eagerly seeks to make a contribution to the cause of Christ. (1 Peter 4:10).
3) Pursues their unique role in the mission of Christ.
God has given us each a unique life purpose in the mission of Christ. Each person is created on purpose and for a purpose. As Ephesians 2:10 says, “…we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”. Someone who is on mission wants to discover and do those “good works” which God has prepared in advance. An “on mission” follower of Jesus desires to understand and increasingly prioritize their life around their God-given role in the cause of Christ.|

Go Big Series (7.9.17 Message)
On Sunday, we finished our "Go Big" series and talked about leaving a big legacy.
Five thoughts on finding a mission that matters:
1) For whom, or for what am I willing to give my
best?
2) For whom, or for what am I willing to go the extra
mile?
3) For whom, or for what am I willing to personally
sacrifice?
4) For whom, or for what am I willing to ask others
to sacrifice?
5) At the end of my life, looking back, what is it that I want to
have done for God?
Five prayers for keeping the right heart when serving God:
1) God, help me remember who I'm doing this for.
2) God, no matter how much I do for you, help me to see it as
a privilege.
3) God, no matter how much I give, help me to remember that
it all comes from you.
4) God, help me to serve you with a willing heart.
5) God, keep in me the desire to serve and honor you forever.
